THE NEWS Indian scientists have shot down a ‘live’ satellite in low earth orbit (LEO) by using an anti-satellite (A-SAT) missile which covered a distance of 300 km to engage the target. MISSION SHAKTI: Mission Shakti, an anti-satellite missile test, was a technological mission carried out by DRDO and ISRO. The mission involved the A-SAT missiles which destroyed the live satellite that was 300 kilometers away, all in three minutes.
